The main site of research interest of the Kuwaiti-Slovak Archaeological Mission is the Bronze Age site Al-Khidr in the north-west of Failaka island.

The mission has also been active in general surveying of Failaka and in processing the obtained data for future presentation of archaeological and environmentally sites of interest.

Selected archaeological sites on the island (Al-Quraniya, Al-Qusur, Al-Zor, F6, and Al-Awazim) were mapped and surveyed with the help of a GPS and total station, geophysical prospection was carried out and sites were also partially investigated from the point of view of environmental studies and ethnoarchaeology.
